Image of F1 in Schools Success

LSA Celebrated our Tenth Anniversary of competing in the F1 in Schools Challenge.

The Venue for the North West Regional competition took place at the Land Rover Jaguar Plant, Halewood Liverpool and the competition was attended by three teams from our school. We are pleased to announce we won seven awards!!  Now need a bigger trophy cabinet!

Infusion Racing (Mary Aldersley, Adam Chapman, Josh Cooper and Phil Banner) 

Representing the North West Region at the Birmingham UK National Finals

  • Innovative Thinking Award
  • Best Engineered Car

 

Piranhas             (Dre Mckay, Holly Neild, Tristan Gross)

  • Judges Discretionary Award

 

 

 

 

Yin and Yan       (Sophie Tsang, Rosie Buglass, Dillon Connoly, Johnny Cass, Kaia Hornby)

Representing the North West Region at the Birmingham UK National Finals

  • Fastest Blood Hound Class
  • 1st Place Blood Hound Class

Yin and Yangs Bloodhound car sped down the 20m track, powered by the Carbon Dioxide capsule in 0.69 seconds….The world record being 0.59!!

 

This week sees a two day event at the NEC Birmingham, the National Championships, and this will be attended by our Year 9 Yin and Yang teams and our Year 13 team Infusion Racing.

F1 in Schools is the only global educational programme that raises awareness of STEM and Formula One among students and school children in every region, in every country, on every continent.’

We would like to thank the PTFA for helping us with a whopping £300 donation, the Business Manager Mr Webster and Mr Wood for payment of the accommodation costs and costs involved for the display stand. The school have supported this venture and without their help our teams would not be able to compete. Thank you to all!
