Image of LSA are moving into the 21st Century

Initially in June 2013 a new website was born but that wasn't the end, in fact it was the start of a beautiful relationship!  Our new website was greatly received and since, Schudio- the designers of the website- have been working closely with Assistant Headteacher Sara Cardno and Business Manager Peter Webster in developing further digital projects within the school.  Together we’ve developed the 'Learning Wall'- a tool for teachers in the classroom to engage with online tools that enhance creativity and learning in the classroom. This has since been shared with other schools, becoming popular nationally, with many now adopting and creating their own unique learning walls.

Ian Richardson, Product Director at Schudio -  "LSA has very quickly become our 'leading light' despite us having rapid growth- we are now working with well over 100 schools in the UK. The passion and dedication shown by the team at LSA has played a huge part in shaping some of the tools we now offer to our other schools. This team, made up of students and staff, has the opportunity to do some truly ground-breaking things as they move forward and we're really excited to be part of something special as we continue and develop our relationship over the coming weeks and months. The Learning Wall is rapidly growing into an indispensable tool for teachers and students to use both in and out the classroom as it makes it incredibly easy for anyone to create a stunning, content rich resource on an subject in just a few clicks.”

Following the success of the website and Learning Wall, we were looking to further enhance our online learning resources by developing an app to allow immediate access to key information about the school, including news, events and more. We discussed this with the students who were excited at what this could offer and couldn’t wait to get the ball rolling! After such hard work, we are pleased to announce its release. Sara Cardno- “LSA is now keen to continue developing digital technologies within the school.  We now have a small team of digital leaders (pictured) and a 'digital team' made up of teachers, who are working hard exploring, developing and moving us forward.”

Current projects are a student planner app; online payment system; a digital team, who are exploring the use of iPads to enhance teaching & learning in the classroom; and the exploration of a future 'iPad for all' scheme.  Current assemblies are launching the opportunity for students to apply to be part of a student digital team with the deadline for applications on the 4th April.  All projects are very much in their infancy, but we are eager to move forward in the most appropriate way for our students ensuring quality learning and progress.

Our next project on trial at the moment is a student planner app which was an idea developed by the student council.  Murat Cobandag, Chairman of the Student Council said, “It's really amazing to see something that was just conceived as an idea a few months ago, come to life so quickly. This is the first of many more exciting things to come. I'd like to thank Mrs Cardno for all her efforts in bringing LSA into the 21st Century and bringing my vision to life .” I would also like to thank Schudio for their work on the website and the website app allowing for up to date information at our finger tips!

Exciting times ahead!
