Image of Sixth Form Students Gain Valuable Insights into TEFL
A group of sixth formers gave up part of their half term holiday to gain a qualification in teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL).

Over two days, students were able to develop skills that they can use to gain language teaching employment in a host of countries worldwide. They are already excitedly talking about going to countries such as Japan and Korea.

Liz McGlynn from UK TEFL-local, who taught the course said,'I enjoyed a fun two days teaching the group about TEFL. We looked at teaching methods as well as strategies for teaching grammar. Students also gained an insight into career opportunities around the world for TEFL teachers. The group threw themselves into all the activities and had some fantastic teaching ideas. They carried out two teaching practices which were fun and well organised'.

Liz added that 'the students were a lovely group of students who were a credit to the college'.

Lucy Eastaff, year 12 said, ' I have had a fantastic insight into what being an English teacher abroad would be like. I hope to, one day, put everything I've learned into practice'.
