What the school could look like.

We are one of 50 schools nationally to be redeveloped which is being funded by the Department for Education as part of their School Rebuilding Programme.

The purpose of this funding programme is to improve the condition of existing school buildings. We are excited to let you know that a planning application has been submitted for a new two storey school building and a separate new sports hall which will be located alongside the remaining existing buildings in a landscaped campus setting. The older buildings that are being replaced will be demolished once the new buildings have been brought into use.

There will be no change to staff and pupil numbers; and the proposals will ensure continuity of provision for the school and for community users during the build process, without the need for any temporary teaching accommodation.

Construction started on site in September 2021 and we are aiming to complete the new buildings by early 2023, with the remaining works on site (building demolition etc.) due to be completed by January 2024

Mr Baker said "We have worked closely with the Department for Education over recent months to see what might be possible on our site. Despite spending extensively to maintain our current facilities, it has become clear that a newly designed, environmentally friendly alternative would provide a facility for this area that would benefit everyone, for a long time to come. It is also exciting to be part of a scheme that commits to reducing the carbon footprint, aiming for us to be a Net Carbon Zero site. While we have always believed that the success and strength of our school is in the pupils, the culture and the behaviour, it will be lovely to match our excellent reputation and track record in the classroom with first class facilities".
