One of our recent graduates, Franki Johnson has recently started a yearlong tour of the US as part of the Disney on Ice Show. Franki completed her Extended Diploma in Performing Arts in 2012, gaining a triple Dn* grade. She was accepted on a performance course at University, but made the hard decision to take a year out to focus on her skating and audition for professional shows. A wise decision, as she is now part of what is surely the biggest show of its type in the world.

This success is testament to her years of hard work. Her outstanding achievement at LSATPAC was gained alongside regular early morning training sessions in Blackburn, often having to start her day at 4.30 a.m. before even arriving at college. An outgoing and responsible student, she will be remembered by many staff here for her portrayal of Lady Macbeth in our Lytham Hall production. To go from Shakespearean tragedy to Disney Princess is no mean feat and we are very proud of her.

Of her success, Franki says, “Ice skating in shows and seeing the world has always been ‘the Dream’ and a dream can never be too big. I have been Ice-skating since I was 8 and not for a second would I say it has been an easy ride. Through years of hard work, very early morning training, blistered feet and no Friday night parties, I have never given up and I finally have myself a dream job that I don't have to call work''.

Congratulations to Franki from all at LSA!
