This year we had almost 80 successful millionaire readers in Years 7 & 8 as part of our Accelerated Reader scheme. One student achieved the remarkable total of over 4 million words read, in second was a student with 3.9 million. Throughout the year, students have been quizzing about their favourite books, accruing a word-count for each passed quiz. A million words is roughly equivalent to the Harry Potter titles combined. In total, students in Years 7 & 8 successfully quizzed almost 7,500 books in 2018, with the Library lending almost 10,000 titles to our young readers.
All students received a certificate, pin-badge, wristband, and well-done message home. Book-tokens were given to two students.
