On Tuesday we hosted author workshops in collaboration with Carr Hill High School and St Bede's School as part of our We Are Reading scheme.
Over the past three years, the Library has been transformed into a valued space for independent learning and teamwork and now the work is complete.
This year we had almost 80 successful millionaire readers in Years 7 & 8 as part of our Accelerated Reader scheme. One student achieved the remarkable total of over 4 million words read!
We will be running a Reading Festival on Tuesday 12th February 2019, involving ourselves, Saint Bedes and Carr Hill with a number of authors putting on workshops and talks throughout the day.
Today students met the shortlisted authors at a major event, brilliantly organised by Lancashire Libraries. Our students enjoyed the experience immensely.
This week we had a great day of book readings and writing workshops small and large with the excellent author MA Griffin.
Today Kyla and Brandon represented LSA in the Lancashire Book of the Year final judging event. The behaviour was exceptional and both pupils did an excellent job at expressing their opinions.
There are six students who volunteer and help out regularly in our school library and they have now received their 'Library Volunteer' lanyards. Thank you for all your help!
All week we have been doing a variety of activities to celebrate World Book Day.

To celebrate we are asking our students to write their own poem about Freedom they will be entered into LSA’s Poetry Competition.
