Image of Year 11 Geographers Go Exploring.

The Year 11 Geographers had an early start this week. One Hundred and Sixteen students took part in a field trip to Wycoller Beck over the course of four days to collect data to use in their controlled assessments.
On arrival the group went on a lovely walk through the Country Park to reach the first data collection point. The ascent up to the first site was gentle so a quick pace was set by Mrs Evans and Mrs Gladwin! The students worked quickly and efficiently at all six sites along the course of Wycoller Beck and collected some interesting data. The next few weeks will be spent collating, presenting and analysing the data the students collected. They will be required to reach conclusions and evaluate their method. Going on the trip gave the students a hands on and practical insight into their GCSE course which always proves to be invaluable when controlled assessments and exams arrive!

Louisa Mansbridge said 'the trip helped me understand the course' and Hannah Riley said 'I thoroughly enjoyed the trip as it aided my understanding of rivers and ignited my love for geography.'

Thank you to all the students and staff for all your hard work and effort which made many new Geography memories.
