Hi everyone. Tom here, from the Student Digital Leaders team!

Seven of the LSA Digital Leaders have recently taken part in BBC's Strictly Micro:Bit Live Lesson hosted at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. It was recorded and broadcast live online! It was really exciting! Countdown's Rachel Riley, Anton Du Beke and Strictly stars Kevin and Karen Clifton were there!

The main aim of the Live Lesson was to introduce people to the BBC Micro:Bit, a credit card sized computer, with a 5x5 grid of red LEDs, two buttons, an accelerometer, and is programmed using blocks (similar to Scratch) in an internet browser. It was designed to introduce young people to programming, as it is becoming a more and more important skill for a lot of careers.

The BBC will be giving a Micro:Bit to every year seven student in the UK. Already a lot of schools have been given Micro:Bits, so it should be just a matter of time before we get ours! If you want to watch the Strictly Micro:Bit Live Lesson, then it can be found here!

This is an edited version, so there will be a few things that aren’t in this version, so you won't get to see Anton ask Bea a question, when he was meant to ask someone else! It was really funny!

That's all from me, bye!
