The beautiful grounds of Lytham Hall was the place to be on a cold early Sunday morning in April this week. The PTFA,in conjunction with the PE department, hosted their first ever Fun Run there and proudly watched 130 runners/walkers/amblers and fun lovers cross the 5k finish line to cheers and claps (not to mention a goody bag with bananas kindly donated by Ansdell Co-op and apples from Sainsbury's) from the enthusiastic crowd.

The superb atmosphere  was kindly  provided by none other than LSA’s own legend Mr Connaughton, who in his usual inimitable style got the runners warmed up and ready to roll with classic tracks such as the Cha Cha Slide, Final Countdown and The Eye of The Tiger!!! Spectators cheered and encouraged as some of our more competitive runners completed the course in around 22 minutes!!

The less ambitious ambled in after an hour or so of leisurely enjoying the grounds and the fresh air! Some fabulous runs were made by the teachers, led rather splendidly by Mr Cubbon as the first male teacher across the line and Miss Gore doing the ladies proud with her early finish. Plenty of students gave the adults a good run for their money, running in family groups, with friends or, the more competitive, individually.

Next year's event promises to be even bigger and better and some runners have signed up already. So if you would like to join in the fun next time please watch the website for details later in the year or contact ptfsecretarylsa@hotmail.com with your details and you can preregister now.
All proceeds from the Fun  Run will be put towards the school  Library refurbishment and the PE department. Keep limbering up and get ready to  leg it for LSA next year!!
