Image of Rag Bag Collection emptied for second time!

A big thank you to everyone who remembered to drop off their unwanted clothes, shoes and household linens and towels for our Rag Bag collection. The bin is now on its third fill and going strong! The scheme is a fantastic way to raise money for your school and to help reduce, reuse and recycle all the thousands of tons of textiles that are wasted and thrown into landfill each year. Good quality clothing is transported to Africa and other developing nations where your old clothes are re-used; other textiles that can’t be reused are made into industrial wiping cloths, carpets, underlays and mattress linings. The collection is ongoing so please remember whenever you are having a clear out to bring your unwanted goods to school where you can continue to contribute to the fund raising efforts of the PTFA, which goes towards making school a better place for your children. (All donations can be left in a refuse sack at school’s main reception.)
