Image of LSA Strengthening Families Programme

LSA Technology & Performing Arts College recently supported Action for Children by hosting a Strengthening Families Programme for the local community.  Young people aged 10-14 yrs old and their parents from schools across Lytham St Annes engaged in a really successful initiative that aims to build on their family’s strengths, develop the resilience of children and young people and enable families to work together to bring them closer together.

It was really encouraging to see a full house for the first programme and really rewarding to receive such positive feedback from the families involved. A parent on the course wrote to say “the course was thoroughly enjoyable and I got so much from it personally.  I have attended parenting courses and 'speakeasy' sessions previously and they concentrate solely on the parent.  For this course the parents worked in a group and the students worked in a group and then they were all brought back together in the final session to work together which was really good. I'd highly recommend it”.
