Y13 Performing Arts students recently performed Anthony Burgess' seminal text. The controversy that surrounds the Kubrick film still resonates within a society in which the young feel increasingly ignored and controlled, and this, rather than the sensationalised graphic 'ultraviolence' was the prevalent theme. A mix of physical theatre, choreographed battle, stylised mask work and choral song and speech was used to create a chilling comment on society and leave us thinking just how far can we continue to try and manipulate and condition our younger generations before they decide too that they will refuse to become 'clockwork oranges'
