Image of Rugby Union success for former LSA Captain

Kieran Brookes, who began his education at LSA (later achieving a scholarship to Kirkham Grammar School), has had a whirlwind start to his professional career. He joined Newcastle Falcons in 2009-10 immediately after completing his studies and after only 40 senior matches, he appeared off the bench for Paul Doran-Jones for the England XV against the Barbarians at Twickenham in late May this year.

Six days later, the former LSA Rugby captain helped England Saxons to launch their Churchill Cup campaign on his debut with a runaway 87-8 win over the USA at Franklin’s Gardens!

He has been studying for a sports coaching qualification at Northumbria University, has played for England U20, Irish Exiles U20 and (as mentioned above) is a former captain of Lytham St Annes High School.Kieran, a hooker turned prop, admires Steve Thompson and Keith Wood and Jason Leonard, England’s most capped player and has relished other sporting fields, playing cricket for the Lytham and Wrea Green clubs and the Fylde District.

Our pride in what our students achieve is overflowing! We wish Kieran every success in his career.
