Image of Ryan Bishop cooks up a victory

The Rotary Club of Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI) believe it is very important to encourage and develop creativity in young people and that includes creativity in the kitchen. Cooking amongst young people is a growing interest and a valuable life skill. Schools, including LSA agree and the RIBI Young Chef competition, in association with leading olive oil company Filippo Berio, goes from strength to strength each year producing some superb quality cooking from young people throughout the country.

Our local Rotary Club of Fylde has taken part in this annual competition by inviting budding young chefs, aged 14-16 from local secondary schools to prepare and present 3 course meals to be judged by an expert panel. As previously reported, six year 10 students took part in the cooking competition, of which LSA had the three winners, Ryan Bishop, Sam Cookson and Georgia Thornton who went on to represent the high School in the local heats on November 28th at Carr Hill High School.

We are pleased to announce that Ryan Bishop was the overall winner and he will be sponsored to continue on to the next round (District) of competition. We are looking forward to seeing the new inventions Ryan can cook up and continue to wish him every success in being named Young Chef of the year!!
