Awarding our Million Word Readers
On Friday, all our Year 7 students gathered together to celebrate their first term using Accelerated Reader. William Outhwaite made the greatest effort and progress having quizzed more than any other student. He was awarded a D.K. encyclopedia and certificate. Mr Prescott awarded five golden wrist-bands to our first "million word readers"; Kacie, Amy, Ruth, William and Murray. Ms Earl's form reached poll position for the autumn term and received a box of chocolates. Everyone was challenged to read, quiz and set a goal for themselves for the rest of this term. Our total word-count stands at a staggering 50 million read this year already.
To see your child's bookshelf and progress, parents can log into Accelerated Reader Home Connect. You can also use the website to sign-up for email updates each time your son or daughter completes a book quiz.
Will you be a million word reader this year?
