At Lytham St Annes High School we promote the basic British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance for those of different faiths and beliefs. This ensures young people understand the importance of respect and leave our school fully prepared for opportunities and experiences in life.
We promote British Values through our Equality Strategy Group, student surveys, hold mock elections, hustings event, implementing an anti-bullying culture. We deliver learning, education and information Students participating in extra-curricular activities such as Young Council, Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, Charity Committee, ECO Council and Wellness Warriors.
We also use teaching resources from a wide variety of sources to help pupils understand a range of faiths and cultures through assemblies and PSHE lessons. We have outlined the importance of rights and responsibilities within our British Values policy.
