Year 11 students recently took part in an informative and inspiring assembly delivered by the Lancashire WBL Forum, focused on apprenticeships and the routes available after GCSEs.
The session gave students a clear overview of what apprenticeships are, how to find them, and the application process involved. A key focus was on how competitive apprenticeships have become, with students encouraged to think carefully about how they can stand out from the crowd.
Students were given practical advice on strengthening their CVs, developing employability skills, and what employers are really looking for. The importance of aiming to be in the top 10% of applicants was highlighted, with tips on gaining relevant experience, showing commitment, and presenting themselves confidently.
It was a valuable session that helped students understand the reality of the apprenticeship market and gave them clear guidance on the steps they can take now to improve their chances of success.
