8 – 16 December 2021
As Christmas approaches, we will be collecting for our Christmas Gift Appeal. This aims to encourage our pupils to give something back to the community at this festive time. The appeal begins on Wednesday 8th December until 16th December.
Please do not feel obliged to contribute as this is entirely voluntary and anything you can donate will be very gratefully received.
The charities we have chosen to support are Mission Christmas, Streetlife and Blue Skies Hospital Funds.
Below is some information about each charity, along with some ideas for donations.
Blue Skies Hospital Fund - ‘Give a Fiver’ this campaign helps to enable Blue Skies to buy a present for each of their patients to open on Christmas morning (sometimes this can be as many as 900 patients). There are quite often patients who do not have any visitors at Christmas so we hope to combat some of the loneliness. Donations can be made via ParentPay.
Mission Christmas - Mission Christmas are collecting gifts for children in need and suffering from ill-health. Gifts for children aged 0-18 years old can be donated to school, gifts donated will need to be unwrapped and new. Mission Christmas will also accept donations of gloves, scarves and hats.
Streetlife - is a local charity that provides shelter and support to vulnerable young people aged 16-25 in Blackpool. They have an emergency night shelter and day centre. Streetlife are always very grateful for donations of the following.
- Personal Care items, male and female – soaps, hair gel, moisturizer, NO SPRAYS please -if donating deodorants, they can only be roll-on - thank you.
- Secondhand clothing- Jumpers, t-shirts, tracksuits, coats and shirts are all welcome. Streetlife are also accepting new underwear, new socks and new pyjamas.
We thank you in advance for your support and wish you and all your family a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year.
