Students from Lytham St Annes High School have successfully completed their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition – and returned with more than just new skills and memories.
Over the course of several days, students trekked across the stunning Yorkshire Dales, carrying full packs, navigating routes, pitching tents, and cooking meals as part of the nationally recognised DofE Award. But it wasn’t just their performance during the challenge that stood out – it was their character.
While out walking near Linton and Malham, the students were spotted by a retired Headteacher, Ofsted Inspector and Department for Education Advisor, who was so impressed by their conduct that he took the time to write to the school.
In his message, he described how both the boys' and girls' groups approached with politeness, warmth and respectful greetings, and demonstrated clear teamwork and mutual support. He praised them as “a credit to your school,” commenting on how they fully engaged in the challenge and represented LSA in the best possible way.
This heartfelt feedback has filled the school community with pride. Our students showed resilience, maturity and kindness – setting a shining example of what it means to be part of Team LSA.
Congratulations to everyone involved!
