I'd like to thank you all for your patience and understanding this week, it has been reassuring that you have shown trust in the leadership of the school while we try to address the issue that was shared with you all. We acted swiftly, worked with the police and the local authority and followed their advice. This sort of news is always unsettling and the whole LSA community has found this week hard. At the end of my first six months at LSA, I hope that you all see that the actions we have taken and the systems that we have established, are designed to make the school a safe and secure environment. These are the systems that successful schools establish to ensure the fundamentals of good behaviour and attendance. My first blog after half term will share uniform changes for next year and our policy on mobile phone use will follow by the end of the academic year.

On a brighter note, Wednesday saw the school's annual 'Lytham's Got Talent' evening and our annual year 11 mock interviews. Both events showcased the very best of our young people. They really are marvellous and the commitment of our staff, parents and the wider local community is so impressive. During a challenging week at the school to watch our young people perform with such energy, talent and vigour reminds all of us, what schools are for and what great schools do. LSA really does have talent, and I end my first six months at the school excited to see our school develop and grow. Stability is what makes young people successful and whilst the first six months have brought challenges, the foundations are in place for the school to truly flourish. Everyone wants the same thing, for our young people to be happy, healthy and successful; thank you again for your trust this week. I am prouder than ever to be LSA.
