Lytham St Annes High School is proud to celebrate Miss Gibbons, who was invited by The Duke of Edinburgh's Award to attend a special celebration at Buckingham Palace in recognition of her outstanding contribution to DofE.

The prestigious event formed part of the charity's 70th anniversary celebrations, bringing together thousands of Gold Award holders, volunteers and DofE supporters from across the country. Held in the gardens of Buckingham Palace, the event recognised the dedication and achievements of those who help make the award possible for young people nationwide.

Miss Gibbons was invited in recognition of the exceptional commitment, enthusiasm and leadership she has shown in developing the DofE programme at LSA. Through her tireless efforts, countless students have been given the opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills, support their local communities and take on challenges that help prepare them for the future.

During the event, Miss Gibbons also had the opportunity to meet Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes, who was among the inspirational guest speakers celebrating the achievements of young people and volunteers involved in DofE.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award continues to provide life-changing opportunities for young people, encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones, develop resilience and gain experiences that will stay with them for life. At LSA, the programme continues to go from strength to strength thanks to the dedication of staff such as Miss Gibbons.

Everyone at Lytham St Annes High School is incredibly proud of this well-deserved recognition. Miss Gibbons' passion for DofE has helped inspire and support so many students, and this invitation to Buckingham Palace is a fitting acknowledgement of the impact she continues to make within our school community.
