Image of Science Students Showcase Outstanding Work on Endangered Species

Students in the Science Department have recently completed a creative and research-based project focused on endangered species and global conservation issues.

As part of their studies on biodiversity, students produced detailed, hand-drawn fact files highlighting a range of threatened animals from around the world, including sea turtles, whale sharks, orangutans, Amur leopards, red pandas, dugongs and Sumatran elephants. Each piece explores key scientific information such as habitat, population size, conservation status, and the human and environmental factors contributing to species decline.

The project encouraged students to combine scientific research with creativity, helping them to develop a deeper understanding of the importance of biodiversity and the role conservation plays in protecting ecosystems. Students also considered practical ways individuals and organisations can help support endangered species.

The standard of work produced was extremely high, demonstrating strong subject knowledge, careful research, and pride in presentation. Projects like this reflect the Science Department’s commitment to engaging students with real-world issues and encouraging them to think critically about their impact on the planet.

Well done to all students involved for their hard work and thoughtful approach to this important topic.
