All week we have been doing a variety of activities to celebrate World Book Day. In English, Miss Maxwell's class really got into the World Book Day spirit as they made clay motion movies to promote their love of reading.

In library lessons, we celebrated World Book Day with a silent-disco browsing, blind book dating, stop-motion animation and fundraising for Book Aid International.

Teachers and Students were invited to dress up as their favourite book character. In Maths, teachers dressed up as characters from Harry Potter and did Harry Potter themed lessons.

World Book Day tokens

Students have received their WBD tokens. These can be used in any bookshops with books valued £2.99 and over. The organisers of World Book Day are supplying 5 full-length teen reads at a special price of £1.99 (with a token) for the duration of the offer.

Charitable collection for Book Aid International

We're having a Big Book Swap in aid of Book Aid International. Students are bringing in a book from home that's no longer needed and making a 50p donation to take part in the swap. The more students that take part, the better the choice will be for everyone. Any unused books from the event will go into our Library collection and all of the money donated will go to Book Aid International.
