The link between LSA Technology and Performing Arts College and its German partner, St Christophorus Gymnasium in Werne, has been active for 21 years.

The exchange is extremely popular with students in both countries and each year more than 30 students participate.

This year is particularly emotive as UK prepares for Brexit and therefore the future of German -British relationships was the focus of this year's programme.

The college’s co-ordinator of the exchange, Anna Kieloch, said ‘’Our young people will be responsible for maintaining good relationships with our European neighbours. Projects like German exchange are a great place to start’’.

The visit included visits to Blackpool, the Lake District and Chester followed by project work, which is supported by UK-German connection. Students focused on strengthening our link further by introducing work experience at LSA and our feeder Primary Schools.

Michelle Constable ,The Head Of Modern Foreign Languages, said: “The German exchange is a vital tool to help language learners understand the customs and characteristics of the language and nation they are studying. Life-long friendships are made and memories created that will last forever.’’
