The PTFA and PE Department hosted a fantastic 5K Fun Run. The sun shone down on over 60 runners of all ages and abilities as they made their way around the local area starting and finishing at school. There were teachers, students, parents, members of the community and even a dog who all took part in a gentle jog, run, walk or amble around the route to plenty of cheers and encouragement from the Marshalls and members of the public. The event got off to a great start and with a party style atmosphere by the inimitable Mr Connaughton with his banging tunes and banter!! All runners received a certificate and a feeling of pride in their achievement on such a flaming hot June Day! Mr Cubbon romped home first for the men and was closely followed by other members of staff including Mr Fenwick, Miss Gore (putting the glamour back into running), Miss Gibbons and Ms Pumphrey all putting in good times for the ladies. Mr Bruen the librarian also completed the course to show his support for the PTFA in raising funds for the ongoing Library refurbishment!! Well done to all who took part or helped out in anyway, it really was a great team effort!!
