Image of Garden Gets a Green Boost!

Our School Council decided to regenerate a neglected garden area which has necessitated seeking funding for the plants and getting their own hands dirty by actually doing the gardening.  Chairperson of the Council, Head Boy, Greg Anderton, himself a keen gardener who single handedly has already created a memorial garden at the front of the school,   has been growing his own plants then offering them for sale to staff to raise funds to develop other garden areas in the past.

This time the group approached Dobbies, the Garden Centre people regarding the "Here we grow" project who promptly donated £400  worth of plants!  Then it was up to the students to do the groundwork.   Now everything in the garden looks lovely!

Greg, who at present is taking his A Levels and hoping to go to Edge Hill University to study Business and Management,  said "We wanted the plants so the School Council could re-generate a neglected garden area at the entrance to the school. The new garden, once completed, will be great for the students, staff and visitors who will walk past these gardens every day and hopefully get pleasure from them.  Many thanks to Dobbies for making this possible."

A spokesman from Dobbies said  "Here We Grow aims to help local communities develop green space in their area so everyone has the chance to appreciate the wonders of local gardens"
