Dutch student Jamie Short had a lovely surprise visit from  his former Headteacher, Bertil Velthuis and form teacher and PE instructor  Sascha Van Der Meer, from Denekamp, in the east of the Holland close to the border of Germany.  who were in St.Annes for the weekend.  On meeting up with him , Phil Wood our Headteacher, and School Link Coordinator Sandra Underwood, the group had lunch and a guided tour of the school.  The afternoon was spent shadowing Jamie in his lessons to experience the English school system.

The Dutch teachers said they were very impressed with the school and surprised by the size and number of students under one roof as their school had only 350 students.  However, they are part of a group of schools which total 4,000 students in their region.

James has been a student at LSA for the past year and will be returning to Holland in July to finish his high school studies in his own country.

Sandra Underwood said.  "It is always a pleasure to see so many international students at LSA and we are always enthusiastic when teachers from abroad want to visit our school to see how young people are learning.  We are hoping to build on this new partnership in the future."
