Year 9 students, who covered the topic of Learning on Development, put theory into practice by planning and running a Trade Fair to raise money to help people in a poorer part of the world after becoming aware of the differences between rich and poor countries in terms of food, water, housing, healthcare etc

A challenge was set to raise as much money as possible by providing cake stalls, tombola, raffles and games for the rest of the school.

Elizabeth Gladwin, Geography Teacher, said "The enthusiasm and engagement of the students was fantastic and on the day there was a real buzz at the trade fair with each stall trying to outdo the next to raise as much for their charity as possible.  The Fair was well patronised by students in other years.

A real credit to our Year 9s! "

£275 was raised over lunchtime and the money has been given to the' Build a School' project in Malawi.
