Spread the (Key) Word!
Ask students to take pictures of your subject’s keywords when they have written/spelled them correctly in other subjects.
Forehead Game
Pupils use post it note to write down a key word and stick it to their partner’s forehead. Their partner then has to ask questions to help them guess the key word. They then go on to answer a bigger question for the lesson (focused on learning).
Teaching Key Spellings
When teaching Key Spellings, break them down into manageable and memorable chunks.
E.G sep/a/rate def/i/nit/ely bus/i/ness
